Since 1991, the unique microscopy and imaging industry has looked to Microscopy/Marketing & Education, Inc (MME) as its primary source of market information and new product launches. Along the way, MME has also offered strategic direction, business plan help, and engineering insight. In a bold expansion move, MME has now formalized strategic relationships with several of its key consulting partners in these areas to form The Microscopy & Imaging Place, Inc. (“The MIP”). The new group builds on MME’s original core competencies of strategic marketing, market research, and new product branding and launching with the addition of two new consultants. Among the new services offered by The MIP: - “The SWAT Team”: an integrated sales and marketing approach to new-market development
- Post-acquisition integration specifically targeted to microscopy & imaging companies
- Metrics for the C-Suite (corporate metrics programs for sales and marketing)
- “R&D … and Manufacturability”: providing manufacturing insight into early stage R&D to avoid the normal “hiccup” between development and commercialization,
- Demand/Lead generation
- Structure and process for service and customer support activities
- Sanity and process for compliance and regulation
The recent expansion strongly supports our strategic objective: Customized Solutions to help you GROW your business.

What's New?Invited Paper: Ohio Uiversity, April 2009: "IDKYCDT!" T/MIP President and Senior Strategic Consultant, Barbara Foster, was delighted to be invited back to her undergraduate Alma Mater, to visit the labs and present an invited paper to the elite Nanoscale/Quantum Phenomena Institute, headed by Dr. Arthur Smith. "IDKYCDT" ("I didn't know you could do that!) neatly accomodated the diverse interests of an audience ranging from condensed matter physicists to biologists and researchers to students. After identifying the five key trends in new instrumentation, Ms. Foster focused on specific instruments that take (a) Light Microscopy Nano, (b) TEM 3D, (c) SEMs to the desktop, (d) Hybrid AFMs cryo and into the undergraduate lab, and (e) microscopy of all types into the integrated imaging/spectroscopy space. . M&M 2008 paper: Impact of Nanotechnology on New Instrument Design Nanotechnology is driving three key trends in microscopy and imaging: the proliferation of Desktop SEMs (a new product category), the dramatic and long-awaited collision of microscopy and spectroscopy, and the evolution of intriguing systems and accessories which extend light microscopy into the nanorealm. MIP President and Sr. Strategic Consultant, Barbara Foster, discussed these trends in an invited paper at the recent Microscopy & Microanalysis meeting (Aug 3-7, Albuquerque NM). Slides from her presentation are now available on the About Us page. Many of the technologies discussed in Ms. Foster's M&M paper are detailed in her recent articles for American Lab and American Lab News. PDFs are available on our The Library page. Latest articles in The Library The hottest thing in instrumentation? Hybrids. Imagine: using light microscopy for navigation, electron microscopy for high resolution 3D imaging, and Raman spectroscopy to acquire a chemical fingerprint of the exact same region ... all under one hood. That's the new Renishaw SCA, highlighted in the latest article in The Library. Also, Microscopy Today, a longtime standard for the latest in practical tips and hints for better microscopy, is undergoing a "change of the guard." T/MIP was privileged to do the market research for the next generation. The results are presented in the January issue of Microscopy Today. Contact Ron Anderson, the current editor, for a copy. |
